Da Fiore, high-flying Venetian gastronomy

This old local trattoria was turned into a starred restaurant, shedding a light on regional gastronomy.

In Venice, the Da Fiore restaurant is a family affair, namely the Martins'. The daughter works the lobby, the dad table service, the son at the register and Mara, the mom, in the kitchen. The reputation of this old trattoria, typical of the city, has broken new grounds and spread beyond Italian borders: it has earned its first Michelin star.
Under the vaulted ceiling reminiscent of old Venetian taverns, and with one of the canals in sight through the windows, the chef offers creative and personal cuisine with local flavours. Follow on the regulars and their habits and create your own menu: in antipasti, mushroom and shrimp salad with black truffle, then stewed chicken and guinea fowl lasagna with pumpkin and bacon. The meal could then include some Venetian black calamari served with white corn polenta, and Fiore tiramisu for dessert.
