TIPS TO TRAVEL SMART DURING PEAK PERIODS

Follow our tips to save time at the airport during peak travel periods!

Everything you need to know about baggage

Your hand baggage can measure up to 55 x 35 x 25 cm / 21.5 x 14 x 10 in and your accessory up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm / 15.5 x 12 x 5.5 in. Both items combined must not exceed 12 kg.

If your flight is full or depending on the type of aircraft, it may not be possible to carry your hand baggage on board, even if it has the correct dimensions and weight. For the comfort and safety of all concerned, we will check it in and carry it in the hold, free of charge.

Please note: Your checked baggage must have a baggage tag with a bar code.
Once the baggage tag has been securely attached, all you need to do is then drop it off at the baggage drop-off counter!

To help us identify your baggage more easily, it is a good idea to place baggage tags with your contact information on the inside and outside of each baggage item.

The weight and number of baggage items permitted in the hold depends on your travel cabin and type of ticket.

Everything you need to know about baggage drop-off the day before departure

You can drop off your baggage at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport the day before your departure. On the day of your flight, simply go straight to the boarding hall and board the aircraft without going to the baggage drop-off counter!

We are ready to welcome you every day from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Terminal 2F, Departures level, Check-in Area 3.

This service is available only on the day before your departure, starting from 30 hours before your flight's departure, for all destinations except the United States and Israel.

Entry regulations for minors

Enhanced checks for unaccompanied minors. Here are our recommendations.
If you are traveling with your child but he does not have the same last name as you, please bring proof that you are his or her parent (birth certificate, family record book).
If your child is traveling alone outside France, you must obtain an authorization to leave the country (known as an AST).

Arrive early at the airport

During peak periods, we recommend you arrive at the airport:
  • 2 hours before departure on flights within metropolitan France and Europe
  • or 2.5 hours before departure for intercontinental flights, within North Africa and Israel

Passing through security checkpoints and border control

Waiting times at the security checkpoints and border controls can be very long, so please allow plenty of time for this step.

In Paris and Marseille, you can pass through border control more quickly thanks to PARAFE (automated border control gates).
