What type of baggage can you bring in the cabin? Size, weight, number, accessories permitted and more: here's all you need to know to prepare your hand baggage.
The information below is intended for reference purposes and only applies to flights provided by Air France and HOP!. Are you taking a flight provided by one of our partners? We recommend checking the airline's website for further information, as their baggage rules may be different.

If the baggage rules vary within the same trip, we recommend that you adhere to the most restrictive conditions.

How many baggage items?

The total number and size of hand baggage items you can bring depends on your travel cabin. Our calculator indicates exactly how many baggage items you can bring on your trip.

You can take 1 or 2 hand baggage items depending on your flight cabin, as well as 1 accessory. Need more details? Use our baggage calculator to find out exactly how much baggage you're allowed on your trip.

Size and weight limits for hand baggage

Size limit for hand baggage

Your hand baggage must not exceed the following dimensions: 55 x 35 x 25 cm / 21.7 x 13.8 x 9.9 in (including pockets, wheels and handles).

Not sure if your baggage is the right size? A bag check basket is available for you to use at the airport, in the check-in, baggage drop-off and boarding areas. Our staff will check the size of your hand baggage prior to boarding. Any non-compliant baggage item must be checked in and transported in the hold. A fee may apply.

Weight limit of your hand baggage

The combined weight of your hand baggage item and accessory must not exceed 12 kg / 26 lb or 18 kg / 39.7 lb, depending on your travel cabin.
Your travel cabin is shown on your ticket.
Our calculator indicates the exact weight permitted for your trip.
For your comfort and safety, if your flight is full or depending on the type of aircraft, it may not be possible to carry your hand baggage on board, even if it has the correct dimensions and weight. We will check it in and carry it in the hold, free of charge.

Accessories accepted in the cabin

In addition to your hand baggage, you can bring 1 personal accessory which should not exceed the following dimensions: 40 x 30 x 15 cm / 16 x 12 x 6 in.

You can choose to bring one of the following:
  • 1 handbag
  • Or 1 briefcase
  • Or 1 small bag for a notebook computer, camera or any other electronic device

Your accessory must fit easily under the seat in front of you, unless you are seated in an emergency exit row. In this case, you must stow your accessory in an overhead storage bin.
